RECOVRY
360° VR experienceAddiction prevention
What if you could practise saying “no” before the moment actually comes? RECOVRY is a 360° VR experience developed for the addiction care organisation Novadic-Kentron. It’s designed for Dutch students aged 18–25 who want to drink less, and helps them build the confidence to refuse alcohol under peer pressure.
The prototype uses stereoscopic 360° footage filmed during a pre-drinking gathering in a real Dutch student apartment. The experience has three stages:
Building up the social pressure.
Pausing to think about a response.
Showing the possible outcome of either refusing or accepting a drink.
The approach is grounded in cognitive behavioural therapy, refusal skills training and action planning. It offers a safe space to practise, supporting prevention and treatment rather than replacing them.
I worked on research and designed the questionnaire. I also set up the testing methodology, analysed the results and created the presentation.
